City Park
City Park is located in the heart of Launceston. This beautiful parkland features mature trees and shrubs, a display of annual flowers, a Japanese Macaque monkey enclosure, the John Hart Conservatory, a duck pond, senses garden, monuments, chess board, historic Albert Hall, barbeque area and a children's playground.
City Park was once called the 'People's Park', which reflects how the park has been viewed by the people of Launceston since its beginnings. The park was originally developed by the Launceston Horticultural Society and handed over to the Launceston City Council in 1863.
It has been a place of many important exhibitions, gatherings, musicals and cultural events and public meetings. This continues today.

Cataract Gorge Reserve
The Cataract Gorge Reserve on the South Esk River, or Pleepertoomerla in the Tasmanian Aboriginal language, is a unique natural formation just minutes from central Launceston.
The Gorge has walking tacks, swimming pool, a restaurant, cafe, suspension bridge and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views. Peacocks and native wildlife add to the experience.
On the shady northern side, known as the Cliff Grounds, is a Victorian garden with ferns and exotic plants. Relax on the rolling lawns, take shade under the rotunda and enjoy lunch with a view from the restaurant.

Queen Victoria Art Gallery (QVMAG)
The Art Gallery enjoys a national profile for its collections of Australian colonial art, decorative arts and design.
The 1891 Royal Park building on Wellington Street was officially opened as a dedicated Art Gallery in September 2011.
The First Tasmanians: Our Story presents and explores the history and culture of the Tasmanian Aboriginal people. The exhibition features rarely seen original objects and examines climate change, astronomy and stories of creation, craft, technology and architecture.

Queen Victoria Museum (QVMAG)
The Museum holds rich Tasmanian history and natural science.
Housed in the 19th century railway workshop at Inveresk, and home to the natural science and history collections, Planetarium, The Blacksmith Shop and Phenomena Factory science centre.
Tasmanian Tiger: Precious Little Remains. On 7 September 1936, the last known thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger, died in the Hobart Zoo. Ironically, almost eight weeks prior, the species had been given full legal protection by the Tasmanian Government.

National Automobile Museum of Tasmania

Utas Stadium
The University of Tasmania Stadium is a nationally accredited sporting and events facility in northern Tasmania.
Located just minutes from Launceston's city centre, the stadium hosts sporting, entertainment and private events throughout the year and has a capacity of 19,500.
Formerly known as York Park, the University of Tasmania Stadium has cemented its profile as the home of AFL in Tasmania, and is the Hawthorn Football Club’s home away from home.
At the close of footy season, the ground is renovated and prepared with turf wickets. The wickets have been bowled by world class cricketer and Launceston local, Ricky Ponting and the Women's Big Bash League. Future fixtures include the BBL, WBBL and Under 19 National Championship games.
